Orange chinned parakeets that I spotted in the far away trees outside my friend's apartment in Cali Colombia. I love these little acrobats. Watching them was so much fun. I think I watched them for half an hour before they flew away.
Orange-chinned Parakeet (Brotogeris jugularis subsp. jugularis). Sexes similar. Old Gamboa Road just west of Summit Gardens, north of Panam City towards Gamboa, Panam Province, Panam. Cleared with patches of remnant tropical lowland rainforest at 30 m (98 ft) elevation.
The orange just under the beak consists of only a few feathers, and may be difficult to see. I photographed these birds from my table at a restaurant. Fruit feeders had been placed in clear view of the tables.
