Orange-crowned Warbler
Late Migration as I usually see them earlier than this in the year. Food rather than day length seems to drive their migratory calendar, as they begin to leave the breeding grounds when cold or drought limit supplies of insect prey.

Hope I got this ID right. Orange-crowned warbler? As is typical, it's not showing the orange of its crown. That only shows when it raises the other crown plumage to reveal it. But aside from the missing orange, all the details seem to match the field guide description and I can't find another...
We were sitting at the table looking out the window when this warbler landed at the peanut butter log on our deck. I was lucky to get a couple pics before it flew away.
