Nectaring on Honesty flowers....

Pristine new Orange Tip feeding on a dandelion flower quite happily in the lovely spring sunshine yesterday

I came across this fellow relaxing in our greenhouse - nice to get the orange tip and the beautiful underwing markings in one shot! Moments later he flew away...

A female on a Clematis flower bud

Seen dozens of these this year but only this one settled with wings open. Happily for me it was in the garden and I had my camera handy!

A pity the female doesn't have orange wing tips! but the underwing markings are attractive. A male was fluttering about but not settling....

for real to believe how beautiful they are, this is the best shot i could get. took it while about 5 of them plus about 4 of two other species of butter lies were fly over this small ground plant, wonder what it is but it has those tiny flowers that can only be seen when one come close. Hope...

For June, the weather here in the Loire Valley is awful!! So here's one from a couple of weeks ago when the weather was much better!
