    such an amazing rainbow of colors available red of cardinals, blue of buntings and blue jays. yellow of gold finches, browns and greys of the sparrows and grosbeaks and now a mating pair of orioles have arrived to give me orange.... wow

    I must apologize for my earlier Id of this bird. I labeled it a Pine Warbler and thanks to Vicki (ducbucin) I can see how obvious it is that this is a female or immature Orchard Oriole.

    I don't know if this was their first sojourn from the nest but they certainly kept together -- going from branch to branch together -- as Mama Oriole kept a very close watch from a nearby oak tree (especially keeping an eye on ME as I took photos of them!).
