Nice to get him so close. Had to back away to get him all in the frame and lay down to take a shot through scrub at the bottom of the treeline edging the lagoon .

Taken on the nesting platform at Osprey House Environmental Center , a free public awareness facility. Has a webcam on the nest available to the public.
It was getting towards the end of the Osprey season at Kinnordy, and you have to make the most of the opportunities before they leave.
This one actually had a successful dive, but I messed up the two images when he flew off with his prize.
He was quite distant across the far side of the loch...
Went back to Kinnordy to try again.
I love seeing this flight pose that Ospreys do. Sadly, i think I may have cropped a bit too much, as it's lost the little sharpness that it had. Oh well, he was quite distant.

When I was practising shutter priority at home a fairly distant Herring Gull (I think) flew past and surprisingly the focus locked on immediately. It would never do so in AP.
Now, I know this isn't the greatest Osprey flight picture (probably because I didn't have the other bits set right), but...

We were treated to several views of Ospreys, so thought I'd get some flight practise in.

Here is another of my Osprey images. Not a very good one I am afraid, but I will take anything I can get on this bird. I believe he has just spotted a big one.
One full week of grey sunless days but now the sky is blue and cloudless FINALLY! We have been following the progress of this young osprey in our neighborhood. When it was younger it was a hot mess. Squawking for it's parents and miscalculating a fish catch. But it is learning and appearing...
