Here's another one I forgot about. From 2016. An Ovenbird. Hear these guys all the time but rarely see them.

Another forest dwelling bird that seems to have taken up in our yard. This little Warbler struts and scratches around the yard like a little chicken. They are so cool to watch go about their way. Normally, they stay close to cover, but this one likes to come out into the yard and at times will...

Don't usually see these guys until the winter months so don't now what this visit is all about.

Ovenbird (Seiurus aurocapilla subsp. aurocapilla) Sexes similar. South Padre Island Convention Center, South Padre Island, Cameron County, Texas, USA. Barrier Island, small coastal woodland adjacent to Laguna Madre at ca. 2 m (6.6 ft) elevation.

Don't usually see more than one once a season. Don't know if this is the same one or another one moving through

I always wondered how this bird got its name.

This warbler mostly feeds on the ground, it even looks like a thrush.

Taken near the feeders and through the window.

Not the best of settings but I was happy to see this little guy.

Sun for the first time in 9 days and I was grumpy having to be in the office but upon coming home this little one was waiting in the yard ;) Two days earlier than last year and the year before.

I think this is a lifer for me. Had to do a little research to find out what it was. I saw it in our yard this morning. Quality's not great as it was only there for a moment so it was a matter of see, point, shoot and do it quick!
