Got a call from a friend alerting me to a Spotted Eagle Owl in his drive way, made the 8km drive for a chance for some daylight shots of these nocturnal creatures.

It's always a treat for me to get a decent shot of these owls in flight. They are so fast and blend in with the background so well they create quite the challenge, for me anyway, to attain focus. I am always impressed by their wing span compared to their size.
