... with the arrival of this Peaceful Dove. Perhaps a rather apt species to post during the days of the anniversary of the Victory in Europe celebrations.
In addition our roads are very quiet too, aren't they. It would be nice to think that could last, wouldn't it.

The size of our Collared Dove is 3032 cm, giants in comparison to this one at 19 to 21 cm.
With the finches on that grass verge was a tiny Peaceful Dove. I don't think they're even as big as our Blackbirds!
In fact they're not.... not even as big as our Starling!

With the new job I now start before sunrise and have about 30 minutes before the sun goes down after work. Hence my picture suffers from excessive sunset orange colours, but anyhow the idea of being a bird watcher stretches beyond time limitations :)
These little Doves are common in our area,around our house and also at the waterhole.The have a beautiful call(wish we could unload it on to this site).
