    Peregrine Falcons

A very distant shot, but nice to get 3 in a frame.
  2. The twosome

    The twosome

Just to prove I did see two Peregrines ... Here they both are, in the distance, from across the inlet. This also shows a bit more of the setting I was zooming in on when I shot the one falcon that stayed on the cliff. Someone suggested yesterday that it might have been guarding a nest, but...

    Togetherness

Siblings perch together (from the relative size of the crop, the one on the right has had more to eat recently from Mom and Dad than the one on the left). They both look healthy and about the same size.

I have a whole series of shots of this event, but taken at quite a distance, so big crops.

    Four Eyases

I shot this from 650 feet away; this box is about 40 feet above the Hudson River atop an anchorage of the Collar City Bridge in Troy, NY. I have monitored the parents of these young ones for six years. I spend a lot of my birding hours observing this family at this time of the year.

  15. Peregrine Falcons

    Peregrine Falcons

Well things here are very exciting as we now have a new couple in our city. It looks like the young female I posted a photo of last month has found a mate and they are exhibiting pair bonding behavior and it looks like they will be using a ledge on this church steeple for their scrape. I spent...

    The Immaculate Conception

I hope!!! Well Folks, Yesterday I thought I would pay a visit to see what my birds were up to? I wasn't surprised, this guy covered her three times inside an hour, and also did a lot of flying. I was treated to a brilliant display, and after each union...

  24. Peregrine falcons

    Peregrine falcons

This is a shot of the juvenile bird (same as the one in my black and white image previously uploaded) that had been taken into care and subsequently released after about 10/12 days. As this photograph shows it had bonded back with the adults. I could not have asked for better light. I had taken...

We are visiting my family and friends in Lakenheath, and hopefully will have a look at Lakenheath Fen tomorrow. Sunday we go to a posh wedding in Ipswich, so hope I will be rewarded with a day at Minsmere on...
