wonderful juvies ...
They develop a
lovely mane and
elongated tail feathers
during breeding
season ... with a
host of other plumage
features ...
And now ... with their
nesting duties over
the changes have
started waning...

"STRAIGHT AT ME"
FOUND WHERE THERE'S WATER SUCH AS RESERVOIRS MIXED WITH LILY AND LOTUS LEAVES, SMALL TANKS WITH LILY AND LOTUS LEAVES. ALSO THEY LOOK FOR THEIR FOOD IN THE MASH AREAS OF THE RESERVOIRS AND TANKS.
Urbanization has gobbled-up nearly all wetlands
in the vicinity of Gurgaon, one of India's largest
BPO-hub and fastest growing metropolis
area. A patch, where this image was captured,
is, fortunately still surviving. But, for how
long ?
May be I can call this "Star of the Trip".
While looking for the Pied Kingfisher, this bird suddenly landed 50 foot in front of us, at first we thought it was a Pond Heron, but through the lens....... Then it was gone in another minute.
We get a few of these Jacanas migrated through Hong Kong every year but usually we only glimpse them.
This year they have been flying around in front of the hide , giving nice views.
