Our regular Pied Wagtails disappeared earlier this year following an attack by a bird of Prey, I don't know if it was the Wagtail that it took. Anyway we had another one arrived this week and he has become a regular visitor so far.
This pied wagtail regularly collects mealworms off the bird table, flies to the birdbath, dips them in the water up to ten times, then takes them to its nest. its mate doesn't do it and I've not found any reference to this behaviour.
