This is a large sized pigeon and more common that the few other species recorded up in Fraser's Hill. However, although I said common, it does not mean it is easy to find it. Finding birds in Malaysia is not always easy, it requires a lot of patience and determination.
This Wood Pigeon had finally succeeded in getting at the berries on the Rowan tree in the garden. Not many birds seem to be attracted to these lightly coloured berries apart from the pigeons and starlings. A 50% crop from a full frame shot.
Warty face (as it is sometimes called :-) ) gathering nesting materials. Great fun watching it choosing and breaking twigs apart, then flying away (and returning!)
