  1. Still here

    Still here

Pine Siskin I don't usually see them come the end of March. I'm not complaining though :) Pine Siskins are very small songbirds with sharp, pointed bills and short, notched tails. Their uniquely shaped bill is more slender than that of most finches. In flight, look for their forked tails and...

I had clearer more focused pictures but this one is on a tree which means something to me for laughing out loud. Hope everyone is having a great day. Heard a saying the other day I want to share. I love you but how can you love me if you don't know me? If you can hate me and not know me then...

Today has been a very productive day. I got to experience something new for a change. So to say I'm happy is an understatement I get so excited and maybe you do too. I used to get these confused with the House Finches but these have a sharper bill.

It's an irruption year, and feeders throughout Maryland are seeing Pine Siskins often this season. This guy is at my local park.

A shot I found when going through some old files. This is from back in early July 2019. An odd time to see one as I usually only see these birds during the winter. Glad I took this then because I haven't seen any this winter so far at all. Probably because it's been a relatively mild winter here...

Some years we have large flocks of these birds dominating the feeders. This year, only a few, mixed in with American Goldfinch flocks.
