    Testing my new SX60 camera out. It is easy to find the target with it compared to the SX50. However one has to be careful not to steady the camera. This photograph was taken between 80-90M away. It show the power of the camera.

    Sorry another Pied Stilt taken with the 50SX helping me to get to know the camera. The Maori name "Poaka" sounds almost like its call.

    This is the SX50 attempt at taking this Pied Stilt chick. I could get up to five times more photos with the 60D + 100-400 zoom lens. With the SX50 it was very difficult to find the chick in the viewer.

    These Stilts are common in Hawke's Bay where there is water. Himantopus himantopus this is the latin name from Barrie Heather & Hugh Robertson: Field Guide to the Birds of New Zealand, 1996. Himantopus leucocephalus is the latin name used in the field guide by R.A. Falla et. al. 1966.
