Went to Skomer yesterday with some mates from my Camera Club.Fabulous place and I got my first Puffin shots at long last. This is one of my faves of the hundreds I took.
Sorry, I just couldn't resist this one!
I'm confused as to where I saw this.
I've got it filed under Fanagmore, which is the peninsula where you get the ferry to Handa, but I can't think of any of the coast there that was sandy cliff - I'm sure it was all rocky. It's well worth doing the...
I've spent many hours trying to get these in flight.
Top of frame, bottom of frame, a tail, blue sky - you name it!
This one was photographed on Unst again, near the main Gannetry.
Maybe one day I'll get a decent shot, not easy though with the little screen on a p&s camera.
Another Puffin, for those who can't get enough of them;)
This was taken at the RSPB reserve of Fowlsheugh on the North East coast of Scotland, south of Aberdeen. There's just a few of them there as a rule and you're rather lucky to see them, the most I've counted is 6.
It's a few years since I...
Another in my series of Puffin shots. This time from Faraid Head on the NW coast of Scotland at Durness. Gosh it can't half blow there!

Fair Isle is the most wonderful place to be (once you get there LOL). We had a great 3 days exploring with early mornings going round the traps to see what had come in and late evenings so as not to miss anything!
I...
It's Puffin season but I'm not sure if I'll be able to see any this year, so one from the archives away back in 2004.
I've loads of pictures of them really, close-up, closer up and long distance, even got a couple of in flight ones LOL... yeah well! but am rather fond of this one in amongst the...
"Don't look down!"
A habitat shot of Bempton Cliffs, with a puffin taking perhaps a cautious look over the edge at the drop below to the sea.
An oil painting (5 x 6.5 in), worked-up from the drawing in my earlier posting. Ive tried to avoid a 'cute' look, in afvour of a more noble, stern image.
