puffins

A group of puffins catching the sun on the Isle of May. A shot taken a few years ago. Nice to catch up many years later. Apparently the genus is called Fratercula (little brother) because the black and white plumage resembles monastic robes.

One of my last puffin submissions from the visit to the isle of may. Something must have spooked them and it wasn't me :)

This Puffin flew into great his mate. He came right up to her and they touched beaks. Romantic!

I came across my brother studying what was around and it just struck me as rather funny that all the Puffins were behind him. Of course there was plenty to look at whichever way you faced. In case you're wondering, he is a member here (username Ken Gates), but hasn't posted very much.

I can't resist posting Puffin shots, they are my favourite bird. I even named my boat 'Puffin'
