    Usually they fly away as soon as you try to get closer. This young one was patient with me and let me pass, with the boat, near him. So I could take several photos.

    The tangled reeds stems of the floating reedbeds are a perfect place to stay for the Purple Heron. As the bird felt safe enough between the dry reed stems I could get close enough, with the boat, to take this photo.
