    This male quetzal was loving the local birding paparazzi in the Dota valley. It posed like this for about 10 minutes at a roadside nest in the Dota valley before hopping out of the nest to pose for several minutes more on nearby branches. Always a fantastic bird to see!

    Early one morning, this male resplendent quetzal landed in a wild avacado tree near a Costa Rican trout pond. For a few precious minutes, he displayed the beauty of his iridescent plumage, while keeping a wary eye on me.
