Rainbow Lorikeets never cease to give me enjoyment. They come every day to the feeders and stay around most of the day. I think this pair is practicing for the synchronized gymnasts, a fraction out, needs more work :) do hope they brighten up everyone's day!
Had to share these guys again, they are here everyday and certainly brighten up the day with their antics.
The tray of water is usually emptied by the time they've had their fun and I'm constantly filling it, even in winter they like their bath! Hope you enjoy too!
Another from the archives, I wasn't able to access the internet for quite some time. Every picture tells a story and this Lorikeet had the others listening quite intently :) Hope you like!
Since Melbourne has been in lockdown I have been at the farm by myself with 50 odd chicken, one Shetland pony and lots of work (weeding, mowing etc) but I have my local birds to keep me company. These guys weren't too fazed when I walked passed with my Coolpix after feeding the chicken that roam...
Hi all, Saturday fun... the Lorikeets give me a lot of pleasure to watch and photograph outside of my kitchen window. On this occasion the male on the left had been giving her a hard time and she just got very annoyed! Hope you all get a smile on your faces!
She did give in after about 5 minutes...
As I have been confined to home my kitchen window was where the action took place. Not a day goes by without these guys at the feeder or just sitting and preening. These two have been regulars, sometimes coming on to the window-sill to have a look and see if I'll go out to fill up the feeder...
Had to share.......Alex, my beautiful granddaughter, thought they were gossiping :)
They have taken to sitting on the window ledge waiting to see if they can see me coming to go to the feed bin, even when I go outside, they stay there and chatter!
Do hope they'll brighten your day!
Hi all
Thought this appropriate for SF..............taken through my kitchen window today. Sorry haven't been visiting BF due to work load.

Hi all, thought you might like this as not only can you see the 'rainbow' but I'm sure you can 'hear' the noise. The saying goes "Actions speak louder than words!"
I have been watching these guys everyday for nearly three weeks through my kitchen window and never cease to appreciate...
Just had to share this one, whilst I was waiting to take the grand children to school this morning at 8am these guys flew in, the most we've had is six since I put the feeder out but today 13, unlucky for some but lucky for me! On the way up the hill (her school is 20km away and we always count...
These two Rainbow Lorikeets have visited my place for the last few weeks as the gum trees are flowering and found that the seeds in the feeder are quite to their liking. We have lived here for over 30years and this is the first time that the Lorikeets have come to stay on a regular basis, this...
A Wonderful Lorrie feeding on my favourite tree in our garden this tree is around 20 years old it flowers a fair bit specially if we get good rain the lorries love the flowers nectar I love their colours sound and visits.
This noisy, aggressive, destructive species is not native to Western Australia. Years ago some very stupid people (some say from the University of WA) released some and they now number in the thousands. They are a serious threat to fruit growers and some 30,000 have been culled but the...

To add to my outing at Westlakes Park, these Lorikeets were all lined up and I envisaged the top ones telling the others that they were almost there lol.........
Always nice to see the Rainbows, do hope you enjoy!
the saga continues.....these two were checking out the hollows in another dead tree next to where my Darter was sitting....the visit to this town park a couple of days before, I had seen the Rainbow Lorikeets fighting with the Little Corellas over whose hollow it was....I guess the Lorikeets...
