This Sparrowhawk sat in the Forsythia in my garden for over an hour last weekend. He had just eaten and spent much of his time preening and resting, all the while keeping a keen eye on what was going on in the rest of the garden. Usually he sits in this shrub briefly before launching himself...
During our trip to Spain I could also make quite a serie of the Griffon Vulture, so check out:

This little owl took his time to pose for my camera. I had to remove the extender, so closeby was this bird. This picture is not cropped so you might get an idea about the distance, it was about 4 meters.
The round shapes right and left of the bird are carwheels from a car passsing by.
Cheers...
On a recent visit to the RSPB island of Ramsey we were priveleged to be on the island with only 3 other people and were lucky to be able to get close to this beautiful bird which was perched on the cliff edge. The weather was superb and I recommend the island to anyone who is in the area.
This red-shouldered hawk and mate built a nest in a tree across the street from my house. After spending much time with my camera set up and ready to go, I finally was able to capture this regal raptor in an at-ease pose.
