    As per the label says! These birds live around the perimeter of where I am working and are easy to see while sitting on the fence, so I often tempted to go on a 5 minute "fence inspection adventure". PS unlike all pictures in the Gallery this bird is not sitting on HV power lines :)

    Thank you guys for your nice comments,but giving you a break from looking at Bird of Prey.This time one of our more colourful Kingfishers-the Red-backed variety.Lots of colour-hope you like it!

    Saw this on the Yellow Waters Cruise in Kakadu. Apparently they also hang out on power lines but this was the only place i saw one.

    Seen near Wanna Station. The red back is not always visible but from this angle you can see where it derives its name.
