.... dye my eyebrows red. What do you think?;)
It's not always easy to get a singleton of these, as there's usually at least a pair and they often stick close together. This one though just got separated enough for me to be able to concentrate just on him.
Quite striking finches, aren't they.
After we'd booked in at O'Reilly's I had a quick look around the shop and lost sight of Hans and Judy.
I set off to look for them and came across a few Red-browed Finches eating some seeds someone had put out.
Pretty wee things, aren't they - you just can't mistake that red brow, can you LOL.
A pair of Red-browed Finches came down and had a good old splash about.
Not sure a better name could have been given to these guys and another Lifer for me.
We never get sick of seeing Red-browed Finches in our garden-hope you guys like them and thank you all those who have made very kind comments to our postings-makes our day!!!
Not as many birds as I had hoped to find up on the Granite Belt. A large bush fire had ripped through since my last visit and flowering shrubs were still trying to re establish themselves . Still a great time had with lots of bush walking and several lifers found .
Will be off line for a week. Quiet time on Norfolk Island with no phone or internet. About 1412 klm off the Coast here and only 8 klm x 5 klm in size. Mainly inhabited by descendants of Fletcher Christian etc from Mutiny on the Bounty Fame. Hopefully get a few different bird shots while there ...
