red crested pochard

A bit blurry....taken at Grimley, Worcestershire from about 50 yes. It just turned up on its own at one of the gravel pits and assumed residency. Don't know whether it has flown as I isolation has prevented me from visiting.

It was a very cold winter, all Dobrudja was frozen except a small part of a lake in Constanta, where hot water form a mall were discharged and about 200 square meters was not iced. All bird from the region were there, in this water.

It's always lovely to see these little fellas happily swimming around, occasionally they come close for a photograph.....but never too close for a really detailed shot!

This lovely Red Crested Pochard looks very relaxed!

A lone male on eclipse happy to mix in with the Mallards and Coots.
