I got the impression that this Red-kneed Dotterel was something of a rare visitor to Centennial Park. There was sort of a "buzz" about him amongst the birders I encountered. I don't think I saw any others of his species on the trip. Extra glad I got a decent (croppable) shot of him...
My vehicle goes in for repairs tomorrow after hitting a Kangaroo while travelling out West a couple of weeks ago , one of the hazards of driving out bush , wild Pigs , Goats, Emus , Cattle, Horses are all likely to run infront of you ... So grounded for a while .
The same (only) Pectoral Sandpiper being harrassed by a Red-kneed Dotterel. There was a large number of Dotterel in the area being quite aggressive to other shorebirds.
