Kinda sorta caught up on browsing. Not nearly so much caught up on sorting my pics from the trip, and even further behind on the ones from Denmark, so here come three more from SA. Again, not my best shots. Saving those now for "dessert".
Too bad I didn't get closer to this...
There are different reintroduction programmes in Spain to release Red-Knobbed Coots. In some regions, such as the Balearic Islands, the project is working really well but in Valencia or Andaluca is not. In those locations, after the birds are released, they do not stay longer in the same area...
This is the same bird, but then close-up. It has a broad white ring on its neck because the people in the park do research on them in 's Albufera.
kind regards

I was lying on the ground with my daddy's camera and I waited for the birds to stand like this. I hope you like this picture too.
kind regards,

I've seen probably tens of thousands of Red-knobbed Coots over the years, but this is the first time I have seen such small chicks (is there a word for a baby coot?)
Taken at Rochepan Nature Reserve South Africa, just natures variation on a theme. Have a good design stick to it, just update it now again just like Canon, but not so frequently!
Having not seen one for years I was told the location of one by John Butler of Donanabirdtours, the next day I found two at a different site.
It's amazing how often this happens isn't it,
