    Red-Shouldered Hawk

Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus) I am leaving for Costa Rica for a few weeks. I took one of my hard drives in to see if they could recover any pictures after having a complete system crash. I have had small incremental successes getting everything restored. I now know complete restoration...

Got plenty of these guys around as well.

Red-shouldered Hawk Whether wheeling over a swamp forest or whistling plaintively from a riverine park, a Red-shouldered Hawk is typically a sign of tall woods and water. It’s one of our most distinctively marked common hawks, with barred reddish-peachy underparts and a strongly banded tail. In...

Missing flight feathers on Red-shouldered Hawk?

Hello everyone, first post here. I saw a red-shouldered hawk the other day near Indianapolis, Indiana which had a very noticeable abnormality with the left wing. Not sure if it's just flight features missing (either from a molt or damage from a fight?) or something more significant like a...

Red-shouldered Hawk It even looks like there is a tear coming from its eye.

    Red-shouldered Hawk

This photo is a composite of two different images taken is quick succession. Neither image showed the whole bird, but stitching them together did. A number of primaries on its right wing are broken. Notice the crescent shaped translucent patch on its outer wing, a helpful identification feature...

Red-shouldered Hawk According to Google "The red-hawk reflects a greater intensity of energy at play within your life. It reflects an intensity of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual forces. This bird is the catalyst, stimulating hope and new ideas."

    Bald Eagle - Maverick move-SF

Once again the RSHA is keeping the eagle at bay. Looked like the eagle put on the brakes and let the hawk fly on by. Terrible image quality so might as well post it for fun.

    Bald Eagle fend off

Pair of red-shouldered hawks fend off this eagle from their young in the nest just about every day. Both raptors did some amazing aerial feats to outmaneuver the other. Eventually the eagle flew off.
