    Out of hibernation

... well I guess he'd been out for a bit, but was the first one I'd seen for months. Looks well, doesn't he.

Now how do I attack that (SF)

Red Squirrels make great subjects with their variety of poses. This one appears to be wondering which would be the best way to get into the nuts.
  14. Female red squirrel

    Female red squirrel

I think it's a nursing female because of the nipples.

Let's start at the bottom then

Wonder if he thinks they're sweeter down there? Hope you like these guys as much as I do, especially after a long winter without seeing one.
  16. Ooooh!! So much food!!! (SF)

    Ooooh!! So much food!!! (SF)

Middle of March and the squirrels seem to have woken up (at least the first one I'd seen this year). This one appeared to be overwhelmed by the amount of peanuts in the feeder. Just couldn't resist that face LOL

    You want to share?

Red Squirrel, not sure if I want some of his/her pine cone or plan on leaving some peanuts at the base of the tree. What kind of "sharing" have I stopped there for?
  19. Wrap around

    Wrap around

I'm sure he'd have tried to carry that nut feeder away, he seems to have really taken ownership of it, doesn't he.

    Covering his modesty

I was so delighted to see this Red Squirrel that I couldn't resist showing you another picture of him. And a picture I thought where he gave me a really cute pose.
  21. If I'd known you were coming

If I'd known you were coming

.... I'd have brought more nuts LOL What a surprise that was. OK we do have more Red Squirrels in the area, actually only seen one grey in all these years. But I just didn't expect one here at the new feeding station. You've got to love them, haven't you.
  22. Tenacious Red Squirrel!

    Tenacious Red Squirrel!

This was a tenacious little red squirrel. It kept hoping for bread and it someone did oblige the little rodent. The funny thing is they said what terrible nuisance these critters were and then gave him some bread. lol I enjoyed the shenanigans! I'm not sure what their Scientific name is.
  23. Big Eater 2

    Big Eater 2

That day a couple of Red Squirrels were hogging the feeders, so there was only that GSW and a couple of bold Nuthatches that flew in. Hard to know whether the swear at them or just say "Awwww".
