This is the kind of thing that happens when an RTH cruises into falcon territory--a ripped right wing.

I have heard of someone supposing that a Snowy Owl was in this location. Having realized last month that it was a leucistic Red-tail, today I got close enough for a photo.

Exactly why this Red-tail was fighting with a broken branch I have no idea. But I watched this comical battle for about 3 minutes. Then he just settled down beside it. Quite strange.

Looks like the RTH is pointing with his left wing.

I love the shape of these brown spots on this immature RTH. It sat cooperatively while its parents rebuked it for doing so in the background.

This parent bird was acting defensively for its two youngsters.
