So many of the Red-whiskered Bulbuls in our garden. This one was making sweet song while I was having my breakfast today. So I went out and took this picture.
I love this bird. Many people in the south of Thailand love to keep them as cage birds. Seeing the Red-whiskered Bulbul singing in the bush made me happy.
I didn't see this photo until I got home. the bulbul goes from this rock down to the water and back again about 6 times before flying off to dry and groom himself.
I'm certainly used to this bird in Sydney but they have a lot more of them here. They come down to bathe in the late afternoon even though it hasn't been too hot since I arrived.
Seems things got a little frenetic when it came time for a break (photo taken from a 4' away inside a mosquito netting with no camouflage - these birds are generally fairly skittish)
