still could not get any king fisher, last year the pied king fisher was recorded this time, but i also did not find it.
this lovely one was enjoying it time with many waders on the lawn.

Another distant shot, here heavily cropped, probably beyond what the original photo quality can sustain. But oh well. Just to document how much fun it was watching this Redshank hop up out of the reeds again and again like a kangaroo on a pogo stick. It was, I gathered, part of the mating ritual.
