From Friday, perhaps the last until next winter. Got two shots: in both, very little red is evident.
See you in the morning folks. Thanks for the comments, stay well.

On February 20th I was birding in my back yard and I noticed a thrush. It was the first time I ever saw a thrush so I was skeptical. At first I Identified it as a song thrush (notice the arrow-shaped brown spots) but afterwards I looked up other pictures of song thrushes and none of them had...
To me this one looks a youngster.
In The Netherlands the Redwing is named ´´Koperwiek´´ (Copperwing), I suppose because of the rusty-red flanks and underwing.
Hi 👋 I am incorporating birdwatching into my daily walks so as to add some distraction to the many steps i am taking, I am very lucky to have a variety of places to walk locally, Hills, Canalside and even a natural marsh, so i see lots of variety.
I have two queries if anyone has any ideas why...

In the attached image the candidate bird is shown 3...
This Redwing was further away than the last one I posted, perched on a silver birch tree. The drops hanging from the branches are not from rain but newly melted snow.
Thank you for your comments on my pictures, stay safe and well, and good birding!

Thank you for your comments on my pictures, stay safe and well, and good birding!

Thank you for your comments on my...
I don't get many Redwing shots. We have loads of Redwings here in the summer, or at least it sounds like there are loads of them. Could be just a handful doing their endless loop of repeats of the same 3-note "joke" (and then chuckling to themselves). But many or few, they're not as...
