There were three or four Redwing in the garden today as well as the Fieldfare I posted earlier. I find shots through the window needs the contrast lifting a little.
I have at last managed a shot of a Redwing, this one was on my Garden fence today (a first for my garden).
Poor(ish) quality due to shooting through a double glazed window but a good record shot none the less.
My Ist Redwing seen in the Garden, its here with a Fieldfare, last year at the beginning of February we had a dozen Fieldfare feeding on Bush Berry's on a neighbours hedge
Well along with the sun the Redwings and Fieldfares have stuck around but very wary and easily spooked, having now probably upset all the neighbours by pointing my camera at most of there houses trying to snap these birds. So in 2010 I have now had 2 new species in the garden, now just looking...
I found quite a few Redwings, and FF's on a quiet footpath, drinking and feeding.I sat myself under the hedge opposite the hedge they were on, and waited, and hoped no one would walk along the path, and for a good hour,no one came along to disturb the birds, and I managed to get a few in frame.
So...
Pleased to see that the redwings are hanging around and number around 20 now, still residing in every garden but mine!! Still pleased that I managed an improved shot considering it was grey and overcast.
Sitting in the conservatory this morning waiting for the usual suspects to turn up when a small number of Redwings flew overhead, circled and landed in the neighbours garden in an apple tree, managed a couple of clear shots, my 1st Redwing :o)
