I spent just over 4 hours in the company of me old band mate Roger at Lakenheath RSPB yesterday. It was great to be out in the fresh air, and exercise me old legs a bit. Might be going to Lynford this morning, not sure as yet.
In Spring, outside Rotterdam near "De Rotte" (is a waterway) in a small nature reserve this Reed Bunting made great effort finding a partner by singing his lovely song sittting on the reed.
There were six Reed Buntings feeding in the reed tops at Strumpshaw Fen. I don't see these lovely birds very often and, when I do, they are rarely in reeds, so it was a real treat to watch them in the golden afternoon sunshine. Ron
Here is one taken yesterday with my new but secondhand 50D (only 4500 activations). Which I have to say I am pleased with (thus far). 50% crop and ISO800. 300f2.8 plus 2X converter. Unfortunately this shot was a little over exposed on capture.
Another bunting shot. I had a request from the GM Bio-Diversity group for a reed bunting shot for one of their publications, hence the upload of some oldies. I think a slightly less cropped version of this one was selected. Now I have to find more excuses for old shots:)
