We've had some nice light sunshine this week so I'm posting 2 new pictures and one old one again today.
This is a wet-looking Reed warbler from 2014. I think it's been bathing.
These are the first pictures from our long weekend at Lake Tkern.
The highlight was the Bitterns which were very active. I've never seen so many and I got lots of flight shots. Some I'm quite pleased with.
We had a wonderful time in Scotland. The weather was great - much better than we could have expected. My dad was keeping well and enjoyed our visit and we took a lot of photographs - all locally as we had no car and needed to relax.
We had a fantastic holiday at Hotel Humaina in the nature Park, Montes de Mlaga. They feed the local wild boar at the hotel so I took lots of pictures of those (too close with the 400 mm lens though) but I saw and photographed a lot of birds too including several new species.
Off to Lake Tkern...
Had a great time at the conference in Hamar. Met lots of old acquaintances and made some new ones. Not much in the way of birds bit I took a series of the scruffiest Hooded Crow I've ever seen.
This is probably the closest I've ever been to a
Reed Warbler and it certainly was when I took these pictures. An early morning walk by a canal while I was waiting for my wife to get up so we could make the short trip to Lake Kvismaren.
For Chris who is much better than I am at capturing these birds. I'm fairly happy with this but with 12,000 Reed Warblers at Tkern I trhough I'd get a lot more. :-)
