Well, the Sparrowhawk didn't return (it's a bit bright, and they seem to prefer duller conditions), although it might visit if it gets cloudier later.
So I thought that I'd surprise you all and upload a Reed Warbler, seeing as it's been over an hour since I uploaded the last one.|=)|
I'll...
Another from the Reservoirs on Wednesday; but don't worry, only about 50 more images left that I like.|=)|
Two failed Sparrowhawk attacks this morning, so I'll be watching the garden for most of the day. If I'm not lucky enough to get a picture, then I'll leave you to guess what my last upload...
I know, another Reed Warbler picture, and I have better pictures (and lots more to upload |=)|) of these from yesterday, but I thought that this was worth uploading.
One thing about the area that these birds visit, is the amount of flies; there are literally 1000s of them. Now I know these...
Instead of them posing in the bushes, here's one in the reeds where they're supposed to be. This is one of those pictures that I'm not sure about. I thought that I hated it yesterday, and nearly deleted it. But looking again, I think I like it now; the lighting is a bit strange, but I think it...
As I said yesterday, I got loads of pictures of these birds the last two times that I went to the Reservoirs, so here's another.|=)|
I've found that, because of the birds' size, and the fact they are hardly ever out in the open, that Spot Metering works best. Although I've blown the white a bit...
Another Reed Warbler from this morning. This one looked like it was preparing to launch itself like a Skier, but it was just spreading it's feathers and stretching. Oh, I think this one was a juvenile, not sure if you can tell from this picture.
By the time I've finished you'll feel like you...
Not a lot of internet access, so I thought I'd post one while I have the chance. Had a nice day at Radipole Lakes yesterday, got this fella near the visitor centre just as we were leaving. Off to Portland Bill now, so see y'all later.
Another example of the problems I have been having with reeds recently. This bird perched close to the hide for a couple of minutes in the sunshine but I didn't manage to get a single clear shot of it through the swaying mass of reeds. I think it is a Reed Warbler but I am sure someone will let...
Another Reed Warbler from the Reservoirs the other day. I got a few like this, but only a couple in focus. But there's still an out of focus reed stem in the way of the bill in this one.
Taken through the window... No it wasn't.|=)|
980mm zoom - hand-held. And if you are wondering why I've...
I've still not finished sorting out my pictures from this morning, but I only took 600, so it won't be long.|=)|
Here's another of a Reed Warbler, no idea if it's the same bird as they were flying up - down - hovering - etc. Still poor light, and this was at 826mm zoom.
Now I have a question...
Still sorting through pictures from this morning at the Reservoirs, but seeing as this is a first for me, I thought that I'd upload this first.
There was loads of these singing and displaying in the reeds, a few juves too. Bad light, so a bit noisy, but actually better than I thought seeing as...
On a lovely warm sunny morning, the Reed Warblers where in full song, Ken & Mike later joined me for a photo session. Ken had his usual fall in his excitment to get to the reed warblers, of course he got back to his feet, with the help of Mike, dusted himself down & carried on his merry...
A first for me this one and blimey its hard to get a clear shot of one!
Spent the morning with my good mate Ken and went abroad (over the bridge!) for some Whitethroats. After nailing those Ken had a call off Rod (The Raptor) saying he had found some Reed Warblers so off we went.
Good to see you...
