Taken at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline at about 7m.
Couldn't resist this brave gull hanging-around this close to people. He was vocalizing and flailing his neck around.
Took this at the lake today. This was a rather mild encounter between gulls. Usually they seem to spend most of their time stealing from each other. Apparently the one begging was a lower ranked gull.
Unexpected find? Not uncommon on Lake Erie in the summer, but I don't know one gull from another very well yet and seem to have captured one that isn't a Walmart parking lot special.
I took this picture from my car window, it was only about 10 feet away and wanting a hand out. The background was very dark so I went ahead and made it black. I also removed a bluish tint on the white plumage. Image enhancement was done in Paint Shop Pro 7.0
