Having a stretch.

A dot in the frame, this little fella, so I've gone for a "bird in habitat" shot - I think the samphire all around the bird sets it off quite nicely. Oh, that's another reason I like Salthouse - you can (and I do!) snack on the greenery while waiting for the birds to oblige! ;)

Took a little time for the right light and for the plover to come near. Worth it in the end.

Little beauties pose well sometimes.

There were three of these at Draycote today. This was the only time any of them did anything other than scamper up and dowm the shoreline, so i'm really pleased to have got it.It's just a shame about the rocks in the foreground.

I went back five days running - it was so amazing to be able to get so close to these lovely birds.

This was a surprise chicks this late in the year. Good though.

What a sweety

The waders seemed quite tame on Sunday.

Managed to get closer shot of the birds before they flew off.

The birds were almost impossible to spot amongst the mussel beds until they moved.

Posed beautifully

Saw a few of these happy little birds the other day. It makes me smile the way they run purposely along, then stop as though they have forgotten what they are doing, and then energetically plunge their bills into the ground.
