Imagine my surprise to find a Ringed Plover on a local stretch of farmland, imagine it then also when I found out it was actually a pair.
Now picture the look on my face when I discovered it to be really a whole family of Ringed Plovers with two chicks!!! :eek!:
Well I mean they don't nest...
Totally unable to hold the lens steady,it was so windy.But this little chap did look up to see what was happening around him.Have been to the reserve each day ,but no sign of him or the Wheatears ,they have all just vanished.
I knew two of the three kinds of bird I was looking at, but it thanks to a very small boy who was passing by, I found that I was watching my first Turnstones. The looked so amusing all facing the same way as if they were waiting for the next bus.
