Some of you may recall my project to record the state of Autumn colours on the river footpath, which I do at the end of October each year.
Unfortunately I was away this time last year so a year is missing.
Here's links to the previous years of you're interested to compare...
Down the slope from the thrush, I get to look across the river, at a patch where I've always seen Dippers, but not today.
Over there was a Carrion Crow meandering around looking for bits in the crevices.
I've hardly had to crop this picture, the Nikon camera has such a good zoom on it...
This photo was taken on a trail that meandered along the Rouge River. I think we were on the Rouge Valley Trail in Markham, Ontario, but as it was some years ago now I could bee mistaken.
..... what that is went through my mind when I saw movement above my head.
Started clicking, hoping I'd get a clearer view when I downloaded it.... well this was what I first saw, you saw the second picture earlier this week when he was so obliging.
Kept this one on for my Saturday Fun image.
And so to the last picture of my riverside ramble. I only heard very few birds that day, mostly Chiffchaff on the other side of the river!
A little further along I came across the clump of Broom.
The other side of the road is an industrial estate.
Broom seems to have flowers on it most months...
..... well sort of LOL
Hawthorn blossom is otherwise known as May blossom (at least in Scotland), because it flowers in May.
I'd made my way up onto the road to head back towards my car and found this bush almost immediately. You can just see the river below the bottom fence railing on the right.
Now I've never heard of this flower before - Mustard Garlic?
It was kindly identified for me in the forum (thanks Aeshna).
It really was very pretty.
Apparently it does smell of garlic, but I don't remember noticing.
Hope I've got the ID right on this flower, it's a few months since I took it but think that's what I thought at the time.
There are a few look-alikes though.
That path can look really pretty in the spring.
