Greater Roadrunner. I was able to follow this roadrunner around a campground for some time. They are quite humorous in the way they hunt insects, with sudden starts and stops and lunges. Or maybe I'm just projecting my thoughts from Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid.
This roadrunner is one of a mated pair that lives on my acre. Last year, it decided to follow me as I gardened because I would throw the grub worms out. Now, it will come quite close if it sees things it wants to eat. I'm able to talk to it as it goes about it's roadrunner business.
