    Posing Rock Pipit

When i first saw this 'Pipit' perched up on post/fence i assumed it was a 'Meadow', but on getting a better & closer views of it, i realised it was a Rock Pipit, which i'd only really seen before by the shoreline & on rocks of course!! :) Very obliging bird, one of least four seen, that...
  2. Ripit On The Run

    Ripit On The Run

Well Folks, Back home after our trip to London for the wedding. I ended up being the unofficial official wedding photographer, not something I'd done before, and not something I would want to make a habit of. It was a great day, we had a great time, and the good old English weather was kind to...
  3. Rocky The Ripit

    Rocky The Ripit

Another one from yesterdays day out at Seaford. I sat on a bench at the top of the cliffs, having something to eat, and a well needed drink. All of a sudden, a pair of these birds appeared around my feet, and started hoovering up grubs, and taking them off over the edge of the cliffs, before...

  5. Rock Pipit

    Rock Pipit

One of my favourite birds. Living mainly on the shoreline, these were really enjoying feasting on the flies living in the rotting kelp on the tide line.

A Ripit also taken on Portland Bill.

    Cliffedge Rock Pipit

There is a 'hotspot' for rock pipits not too far from me on the Sussex coast. I'm still struggling with the digiscoping. This very obliging rock pipit gave me plenty of time to practice today. This was the best of the bunch on a foggy and dull day.
  14. Rocky, I Think!!!

    Rocky, I Think!!!

Loads of Pipits around on Portland Bill, think this uns a Ripit.

I saw this bird while driving past, got out of my car with my camera but found it difficult to cope with the strong wind that pushed my lens sideways .So the result is not as sharp as I would have liked.

    Rock Pipit

How many times has this happened, just took the camera off the tripod and a bird suddenly pops up in front of you, luckily it stayed while I got a couple of shots off.

    Me and my shadow!

At least three of them around yesterday. Considering it was lunchtime the shadows were pretty long even on this tiny bird. Just shows how low in the sky the winter sun stays!
  22. Rocky I Think

    Rocky I Think

See this little fella scuttling around the harbour at West Quay near Bridport, Dorset, during a stop for a cuppa. I think its a Rock Pipit, as its somewhat darker than a Meadow Pipit, I'm sure some of you ace birders out there will put me right.
