Perching a bit more normally. Who needs two feet?

This Rook limped about but seemed to be doing OK. Like the other Slimbridge Rooks (and Wood Pigeon in the background) he was scavenging on duck food! I think it's the same bird seen in a wet and bedraggled state in the Gallery a few days ago.

It was a rainy day and this wet and bedraggled Rook looked as if he was just waiting for the rain to go away.

You may think these birds are just black. They can be much more colourful when photographed, especially in good sunlight like this.

I had a pleasant day walking around Rye Harbour, got the bus from the harbour to the bus stop near Rye station. I had packed my rig away, and sat at the bus stop waiting for the next bus home. Three of these guys showed up, and I managed to get my rig out, and fire off a few frames before they...

I seem to be taking lots of shots of these great birds. They are always around at Slimbridge and seem easier to get near to than Jackdaws at the moment.

Battling amongst the tiny flies to find something worth eating. Got my 40D back now, so will soon be firing on all cylinders again.

I suppose the Moorhen is not really black. That's the first impression you get of them from a distance.

This one Rook always hangs out at the same spot at Slimbridge. It's the nearest I ever get to a Rook for pictures.

yesterday's picture of a Rook didn't show that really they are good-looking birds, this one does them a bit more justice.

I don't think anyone can call these a pretty bird, especially when they've got their mouth open!!

Went to Pett Pools yesterday, still too much water, so no waders about. This old fella was foraging alongside the car, so didn't have to get out in the cold for this un.
