Bussed it to Pett Level yesterday...But it was really windy, and there was not a lot about. I had four hours out in the field, then got the bus home. I was in the house for about half an hour, and Aivars called and said did I want a trip out to the "Viewpoint" at Rye Harbour. So we had...

    The wrong side of town

Following up on my seedy places theme ;). One of Trondheim's claims to birding fame is our flock of rooks. LEATHER JACKETS EYEVIEW

A leather jacket is the name of the larvae of the Crane Fly, which do a lot of damage to crops. LJs are a favourite food of Rooks.

    Rook headon closeup

An unusual view of a bird I don't get close to often. I love corvids, such characters. You'd be forgiven for thinking these birds are black!

    Who's a pretty boy then!

Who says Crows / Rooks are just dull black birds? ;-)

So much more than just another black bird! I was delighted to get such an interesting shot, given the fact that it was a dull, dreary, drizzly mid-November morning.
