rough-legged buzzard buteo lagopus

Hovering like a Kestrel beside the small ponds on the shore where the Fire-bellied Toads mate (but we were too early for them this year). It was looking for voles I suppose. I took lots of pictures though I wasn't entirely happy with any of them. It was a great experience though.

This is the best of a few record shots before the bird has vanished.

Not a great picture but a very nice bird, even though at the time I thought it was a weird harrier. It took Bird Forum to put me right as so often happens :-). Saw 2 of these last Saturday but didn't get any pictures so this one'll have to do.
