They're winding down no. Hadn't seen one for two days but then a female showed up yesterday and today.

This is a hanging basket on our deck. The many juvies we have seem to like it. But I've still gone through 25 lbs of sugar.

There are a lot of problems with this profile photo, but the detail on the gorget was something that I had never noticed before.

More from the leaf hosing and yes Ove, I have a water meter ;)

She has now staked out her territory and has a good vantage point from where she's perched

I'm swimming in them but oddly, all females. I've seen no hint of any juvie or adult males.... yet ;)

I think it's best I quit trying to photograph the Hoverflys and just keep my camera pointed in that direction ;) The right edge of this photo is the absolute edge and was happy I at least got the wing in there.
