I take a lot of Hummingbird photos and never cease to be amazed at the varied wing positions and how they seem to be able to twist or rotate the wings. These are some amazing birds and a joy to watch.
Has some fun with these today. I spent some time waiting on the male.....seems he only shows up when I am not set up like i want. Oh well I'll get him one day.
Spent most of yesterday working with the flash setup. It takes a while because I don't have a whole lot of Hummers so shots are streached out over a time. Still don't have the combo nailed down yet but I'm working on it. This is one of the better ones from yesterday.
I noticed that this bird is a bit more aggressive and also seems to have a longer body and neck than the others. Anyone with any ideas or is it my imagination.
Shot this with the 4 flash setup and shooting blind. The background is a 11x14 photo I took of the sky. No matter what you throw away more shots than you keep. I had fun though. This is an uncropped shot, resized only with a little ps work.
Had the day off, cloudy of course, so I pulled out some flashes, three. Set up the chair blind, got out the tripods and went to work. I had some flowers for the bg, quite close so I did not use a 4th flash on the bg. Thought is might rain so I did not bring out and bg material. Only saw the...
The Hummers seem more active. This is one of 2 males around the feeders and I played with some shots with single flash, cloudy day, to get them acustom to the flash before using the larger setup.
