This female and one male are becoming regular visitors to the feeder......more like once in a while. Took this shot just playing around...don't want to set up all the flashes until they get acustom to feeding regularly.
This is no prize winner but is the first Hummer of the season that I have had a good look at. I was shooting sparrows this morning and caught a quick movement to my right....oh boy it is a Hummer.....turned and took a quick snap. Could not pass it up. Now I have seen them at home and work. Am I...
Thought I would put up another Hummer photo from the summer. Sure makes me feel better....might just post a few more over the next few days. Suppose to snow tonight and tomorrow.....come on summer.
We were hit with an un-named tropical storm Thursday evening. It didn't increase in size or strength til it hit our coastline. Since then I am swimming in hummers. Not sure if the northern migrants got sent off course or what but I'm enjoying the fallout.
Not as good a shot as our American cousins, but another first for me. It was great to watch these small birds, coming and going to the feeder. Some of them appeared quite aggressive, chasing off rivals, and bigger birds. My youngest granddaughter Saabrah, tells me this is a juvenile, or female...
You don't know how I am hoping this is my juvie migrant that spent the winter here last year. I know I'm probably dreaming but I've never had an adult Male this late in the season
Watched this hummingbird for about 15 minutes and took a bunch of photos but none came out as well as I thought they would. This is one of the better ones.
Well, as is usual in previous years, a female has pretty much taken control of the feeders and stands guard not far with a perfect vantage point to see all feeders.
