    Sorry I haven't done any browsing last night or today. Bad night with a stomach infection, then spent today catching up on sleep and hydration. Tomorrow I'll try to catch up on browsing, work, and sewing. We'll see how far I get. Meanwhile, here are the first three species of my first full day...

    These ruddy turnstones were part of the flock consisting of little sandpiper and another I am not sure of. Were happy to fly around me, but not fly away too far - so managed to get a few close up shots.

    AAP Away back in 2005 we met up with my sister in Northumberland at the same time as they were having a Bash in the NE. It was great meeting up with all the members from that area. We stayed on for a few more days and re-visited some of the places we'd got to that day. This picture was taken...

    the lower bird in in non-breeding plumage but the top bird seems to be moving into breeding plumage. I would have expected him to have moved north by now.

    A group of Ruddy Turnstones doze in the late afternoon sun whilst awaiting the turn of the tide. Interestingly 4 or 5 in this group bore metal rings.
