I'm seeing lots of anna's and rufous hummers actually sharing (this one is actually standing on the back of the other one) the open port holes this year. Most years it's constant battles. I removed the yellow flowers from the holes so that they're larger and easier for the orioles to drink...
The Anna's hummers that have spent the winter at our feeders gladly shared the sugar water with each other and did so without fighting. Now that there are at least four Rufous here, the territorial fights have begun. The Rufous will fight anyone, including their female mates.

it's been weeks since I've seen my last Ruby-throated Hummer but today, just like 2 previous years in the same week, this Rufous shows up. Not a great image but you can at least tell it's a Rufous ;)
