    This is a female Rufous Whistler. I'd photographed a male a couple of weeks before in the Flinders Ranges with Peter and Adrienne and these are the only two pictures I got of this species. They're a long way apart from each other, aren't they.

    Rufous Whistlers are very endearing,with their vigorous song and bright plumage. This juvenile was as vocal as his parents.

    This male Rufous Whistler is trying by all means to attract its partner, including singing loudly and fanning out its tail repeatedly. That allowed me to capture its 'most attractive' moment. This is also my first ever DSLR photo. Still have alot to learn from others.
